|Ewald Brass Quintet
In 1996 five youths have established the Ewald Brass Quintet, with the intention to be the successors of famous groups and to present new pieces and performances of high level to the friends of brass music. Their object is to interpret the Hungarian composers' pieces and the Hungarian brass culture all across the world. They very much emphasise the development of the group that is why they worked together with such well-known performers as Roger Bobo, or the Canadian Brass's members. No doubt, it was Szabó László professor of tuba at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy, who has been doing so much for the Quintet since the first days. In numerous competitions, the group has proved its professionalism and won many prizes. With their outstanding results, they got a lot of invitations to places all around the world. They gave concerts in three continents from America to Asia throughout Europe.
September of 2000 was a milestone in the life of the Quintet: Mr Gerhard Meinl, the owner of TA-Music, started to sponsor this young ensemble with instruments, from the brands of B&S, Courtois, Scherzer and Hoyer.
In the album "Chamber Music" the pieces were collected and scored by Szentpáli Roland composer and excellent tuba artist, in order to start a new trend with the role of introducing high-quality chamber music.
The pieces (made by famous composers) have been arranged to show the wider range of possibilities of brass music. Taking this first step, the group hopes that it can give beautiful moments to all the music lovers.
